Internet Marketing For Beginners - Avoid Large Startup Costs

For anyone not living under a rock, the Internet has become well known and well used. While it is often turned to for emailing friends and surfing news sites, it is also an outlet for both large and small businesses. But, Internet marketing is more than just having a website, actually much more.

By definition, Internet Marketing is the act of using the technologies of the Internet to communicate with potential customers, advertise, provide education and get a business established. Just like traditional marketing, such as newspaper advertising, direct mail campaigns, billboards, and cold calling, Internet marketing possesses two main goals: get known and get customers. However, the benefits of marketing online over traditional are numerous. A few of the advantages are as follows:

Cost: Internet Marketing is often cheaper than traditional.

Depending on how extensive the advertising campaign, marketing online can get you more bang for your buck than traditional marketing.

Environment: For those dedicated to going green, the Internet allows for a form of marketing and advertising that does not waste innumerable amounts of paper, paint, or ink.

Ability to Reach People: The biggest flaw in traditional marketing is the ability to reach people. Ads in specific newspapers or billboards on specific streets greatly limit the amount of people who see them. The Internet, however, is universal. In theory, Internet marketing can reach anyone, anywhere.

Ability to Manage your Campaign: Unlike traditional routes of marketing, the Internet provides the unique benefit of tracking your traffic. With the ability to see how many visitors are attracted to a certain website or a certain feature, a business has the advantage of knowing what is working and what is not.

Many More Tools: Traditional marketing has become more creative over the years, venturing out to bathroom stalls and football stadiums for instance. But, traditional marketing will never have as many tools as the Internet. Simply put, technology just arms a business with many more opportunities. From search engine optimization to email campaigns, from portal site media to newsletter sponsorship, from web casts to videos, the tools for marketing online are virtually limitless.

As demonstrated above, Internet marketing, as we know it, is an effective way to bring in customers. However, one problem with many aspects of Internet marketing is adaptability: certain businesses may find it's too hard to adapt, or too expensive.

For the entrepreneur looking into a home-based business, for example, the cost may be outrageous. Forced to join multiple programs in order to tap into popular trends, you may find yourself juggling sites, re-branding your image, and ultimately losing money.

Thus, the ability to bring together the advantages of Internet marketing with the ability to adapt to changing times is ideal. It's ideal and it's come to life through Intelligent Phase Marketing.
